Child & Youth Health Networks: Update and Insights
Montreal,
October 15th, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Formed in 2001, Child and Youth Health Networks of Canada (CYHNC) is comprised of networks from across the country interested in advancing our understanding of networks and their usefulness in addressing the broad health needs of children, youth and families. Early on in its exploration of networks, CYHNC and CAPHC co-sponsored a session with a number of network experts in conjunction with the 2002 annual conference of CAPHC in Toronto. At that time, Dr. Brenda Zimmerman introduced us to complex adaptive systems. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Zimmerman again. A scholar in the application of complexity theory to health systems and services, Dr. Zimmerman will share her latest thinking in this area in relation to networks in a relaxed, informal, and interactive setting. She will explain and explore how complexity science applies to the life-cycle, responsiveness, and sustainability of day-to-day practical networks. Some key challenges associated with addressing networks through the lens of complexity will also be raised.
All CAPHC registrants are welcome to attend this satellite session at no additional cost. Come to hear, share, and learn! In addition to hearing Dr. Zimmerman, find out about updates on the work and research interests of CYHNC and take this opportunity to meet with your child and youth health network counterparts. Appetizers and refreshments are included. This event is being hosted by CYHNC and has been made possible through the direct financial or in-kind support of the following organizations: CYHNC; CAPHC; Child & Youth Health Network of Eastern Ontario; Southern Alberta Child & Youth Health Network; and, Child & Youth Health Network, Eastern Nova Scotia.
