On behalf of the CAPHC Board of Directors, I would like to thank all CAPHC member organizations and partners for your continued support of CAPHC and active participation in our national programs. The strength of our child and youth healthcare community is truly remarkable and is making a real difference on so many levels.
CAPHC shares with all its members, a fundamental goal of advancing a national child and youth health service delivery agenda through knowledge creation and transfer in high priority areas. On behalf of our membership, we have established several partnerships with key national organizations in the development and implementation of a wide variety of programs addressing the unique needs of the children, youth and families that we serve.
National benchmarking and data sharing; patient safety; development of national child and youth healthcare indicators and standards; health promotion and prevention in many areas of child and youth health service delivery; identifying and promoting the uptake of leading practices; mental health and mental illness; and continuity and coordination of care across the continuum; represent a snapshot of CAPHC’s programs and the direction of our national association going forward.
As discussed at our recent AGM in Montreal, CAPHC will be embarking upon a comprehensive membership consultation process in 2008 to engage our membership in the planning of CAPHC’s strategic direction for the next 5 years.
In the coming months, we will be in touch to schedule a meeting (via teleconference and/or face-to-face) with you and your colleagues to share our vision for the next five years and to seek your input and participation in the development of CAPHC’s future direction. Following this consultation process, we plan to present “CAPHC’s 2008 – 2013 Vision” at next year’s Annual Meeting in Edmonton (October 19 – 22, 2008).
I look forward to seeing many of you in the New Year and to our continued collaboration!
Kind regards to all!
Elaine Orrbine
